  1. Dear Damian,

Bob and I are richer for having had you as a friend. We’ll miss your kind, thoughtful, gentle ways and will cherish the times we spent together. Our hearts go out to you Fran and we send our all embracing love.

Suddenly, as precious things are often wont to do, he disappeared. đź’”

  2. Our Dearest Damian.

You tried so hard to stay with us, but this was a race that couldn't be won. We will forever miss you. You have left us all grief stricken. Our youngest brother, We are so privileged to have had you in our lives. We didn't want you to suffer any more, but we didn't want you go. Remembered always as our loving, kind, brother. You lived a worthy life.

Loving thoughts to Fran at this saddest of times.

  3. In memory of Buzz, thanks for the support you provided to us, and the wider community through your service. Our sincere condolences to Fran, and family and friends at this time.

  4. Our ever loving youngest brother Damian.

You are sorely missed by your family and large group of friends.
And no, they didn't just tolerate you!

As always you tried to make everybody feel happy right up to the end, putting your own interests to the side.

You were one of a kind taken way too soon.

As promised we will take care of Fran, but collective we can't hope to fill your shoes.

Rest in Peace you beautiful man.

  5. Damian Buswell. Judy and I are so sad to hear Damian has passed. Its just so difficult to accept that you are gone. We met at transperth as young bus drivers together with your brother David. Our friendship although apart will be in our hearts forever, we enjoyed funny moments and did get up to a bit of mischief and I'll never forget that cheeky grin or the sound of your giggle. The memories will be with us always. Rest in peace digger.
Judy and I extend our deepest condolences to Fran, family and friends of Damian and hope you are able to gain the strength to endure the most difficult of times. All our love and God Bless.

  6. Hard to believe you have left us so early.
So many great memories of training and racing with you in WA and in Victoria.
Being in the car following you when you rode through the field to take first and fastest in Perth to Beverley in 1983, you had the bike singing that day. - And your chase to get back onto your bunch after a tangle of bikes at Mt Moriac in the Warrny you should have won in 81. - Travelling to Cootamundra in The Turtle with you and Paul.
So sad we did not get to meet again in Melbourne as we talked about.
Such a great bike rider and an even better person.
My deepest sympathy to Fran and all the extended Buswell family.
It has been harrowing but enriching experience being part of the WhatsApp support group as we all feared the worst but hoped for the best.
    Rest In Peace Damian.

  7. You were a one-in-a-million uncle, the most loving and caring person with the biggest heart. I'll always remember and cherish the times I spent with you. Fran, my heart and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

You may no longer be with us, but you will never be forgotten; rest easy, Uncle Damian x

  8. Damian,

”Some souls are too beautiful for this world, and so they leave...”

Thoughts to Fran and family at this saddest of times.

  9. Uncle Damian, you were such a steady, positive presence in my childhood. So engaged, patient, unbelievably kind, humourous, adventurous and fun; the very best kind of uncle. You were an absolutely flawless example to me of what it meant to be a truly good man. When I think of you, I immediately see and hear you laughing, I hope I retain this vivid image always.

Aunty Fran, you have my love and support always.

  10. Damien
I always enjoyed catching up with you when coming to Albany, a true gentleman of the fire service

  11. We are beyond devastated by the sudden passing of our beautiful friend Damian. Our friendship of over 25 years became closer as we all got older and retirement beckoned and plans of more overseas holidays together. We had so much fun in your company and will treasure our last holiday together in Broome 2020. Your gentle caring nature along with your wonderful laugh made you so many friends in your life. We are truly honoured to have known and loved you. Life can be so very cruel sometimes and this is definately one of them. We have all been robbed of the pleasure of you Damian and the world is a lesser place without you in it. Our hearts are broken for our beautiful friend Fran. You and Damian were so happy and had so much more living to do together. We are always going to be here for you Fran. We love you. Deborah & Anthony Ajduk

  14. My favourite uncle. You were always goofy, funny and loving.Every time we saw you you always had a well told joke and infectious laugh to follow...
I will never forget the time you brought around some movies to watch and thought you were so hilarious bringing "Indiana Jones" and telling us he was our long lost cousin.

You always treated everyone around you with empathy and respect. Even in the worst of times. I will be forever grateful for your positive attitude and kind enquiries into my life.
My daughter loved you and I'm sad my boy won't get the same privilege.

  16. Fran,
I am so sorry I never met you but I am sure you and Damian had a wonderful life together. My memories are strong of sweet Damian and all the Buswell family. They were all my second family, a home away from home! Damian, I enjoyed you so much - your "cheekiness", your friendship and your bike races. As your family grieves their loss, just know we all love you!!

  17. Damian….a beautiful soul who cared deeply for others. A true gentleman. We will always treasure our Albany memories together, of laughter, great stories, coffee together at Middleton Beach on a cold Saturday morning and most of all your darling Fran who to whom you were the love of her life. You will be truly missed Damian. A life gone too soon. Love and condolences to Fran and all those that loved you. Jenny and Mark Scriven. xx

  18. Damian, just when you think nothing would ever be harder than riding off scratch in the Beverley to Perth, the Warny or the Donnybrook just to mention a few & then life just decides to throw something even harder at you which by the way no one will ever understand.
You didn’t even get a chance to train for this one Mate but that didn’t stop you as you fought even harder to win this one as always you were never going to give up but unfortunately there are times where we must all just put our hands up & say this is just all too fucking hard.
At least you are now out of pain & discomfort & as hard as that is for everyone around you it is also comforting to know that you are now at peace but you are still with us in heart & spirit.

We will never forget you mate, RIP.

    Kimbo & Lou Suckling.

  19. Damian, just when you couldn’t think of anything being harder than riding the Beverley to Perth, the Warrny & the Collie Donnybrook especially on a cold winters day when all those races seemed to manage that weather just to add a bit more pain.
Who would have imagined the next chapter in your life just when you thought you had fought the toughest days in your cycling career.
No matter what was thrown at you you always put up the best fight you possibly could never giving up. But unfortunately there is a time in your life when you just can’t do it anymore & you just say fuck it enough is enough.
At least now my good friend you are pain free & at peace there has to come a time when you just can’t give anymore & as we all know that didn’t come easy for you mate.

You will always be in in everybody’s hearts & there will never be a day that you will not be thought of weather it be for your strength your kindness or your smiling face. RIP Damian from another great friend who had nothing but respect for you.

    Kim & Louise Suckling.

  20. I will always remember your smile, your laugh & your fun loving nature. Damian you were a true gentleman & never said a bad word about anybody. I was thrilled when you & Fran hit it off, both of you such beautiful people & made the perfect couple. Cannot believe I won’t see you again but you will always be in my heart.
Rest In Peace. Heartfelt sympathy & love to Dear Fran x

  21. Uncle Damian,

Words can not describe how much you meant to us all, and how much you will be so sadly missed.

You were such an amazing man, taken way too soon. It all seems so surreal, and so unfair.

We will always remember your cheeky grin and that unique Buswell laugh.

Sending all our love and strength to our beautiful Aunty Fran đź’ž
